We think Postmaster General Arthur Summerfield put it well in a letter to postal employees, urging them to support Safe Driving Day, December 1: '
“A sickness,’* Mr. Summerfield wrote, “resulting in over 100 deaths and 5,500 people seriously ill and perhaps affected for life in one day, would be classified an epidemic of the most serious proportions!.
