Banquet Fills High

School Cafeteria

Jimmy Clatterbuek wa* awarded the DeKalb Award at the annual Father-Son Banquet held Friday night in the RCHS lunchroom. Mr. Clhtteibuck, the ton of Mr. and flirt. Boy Clatterbuek, yecefved the award on merit of outstanding leadership ability, cititenship and vocational agriculture work.

Forty-five bonafide Future Farmers of America and id fathers attended the banquet, along with sevaral guest# and tha speaker ,fox' the evening, Q. DGaaque. Mr. Casque, SuperinUndent of Warren and Rappahannock public schools, gave a short talk dealing with a father and son’s” obligation to each other.

Each son introduced his father early in the meeting. A new FFA member, Kurt Volkert, was also introduced. *The delicious meal was sorted: by 'Mrs. James Lillard, Mrs. John . Updike and volunteers from the student body.

Local Garden Club

Mrs' W. R. Willfamson was elected president ’of the Rappahannock Garden Club at *s' March meeting held Saturday, 24. Other officers elected were Mrs, W.. C. Hall vice-president, - Mrs. R. V. Snead, secretary, and Mrs. W. F. Moffet Sr. treasurer. The club voted to hold a flower show again this year in the Educational building of the Washing* ton Baptist Church, May 10th. . Mrs. Charles Estes who was named chairman of the show, is. very anxious for all members of the club and flower growers to exhibit. Schedules, will be distributed as soon as possible.

A meeting of the Flower Show - committee has been called for. Wednesday, April 4th at Mill Bank, the home of Mrs. Estes. .
