and Mrs. Billy Wharton, and daughter, Brenda of Fairfax and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brown of Sperryville. Mrs. Wharton returned to /Fairfax with Mr. and Mrs. Billy Wharton, for a week’s visit.
Mr. and Mn. Wade H. Massie Jr. and son, Tom who have been spending several months in Sarasota, Fla. are expected home this week end.
V. H. Keeler, who was recently operated on at the Doctors’ Hospital in Washington, D. C. is recuperating nicely at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Amanda Bethel of Washington. Before coming home, Mr. Keeler will visit another daughter Mrs. Gertrude Jones of Greenbelt Md.
CARROLL J. GAUNT ,
Carrol J. Gaunt, son of the late A. D. Gaunt and Lavinia Bolen Gaunt, died Tuesday March 20 at San Bernardino, California where .he had made his home for the past • forty-nine years. Mr. Gaunt who had retired, was seventy- two years old and a bach. elor. He was a native of Rappa' h an nock and made it a rule to visit 1 his native county every two years.
In early youth he connected himself with the Oakley Baptist Church and was interested i n church work all his life.
He is survived by one sister, • Mrs. Rosa Gaunt Mills of Hanover, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Tenie Gaunt is a sister-inlaw and it was to her home he visited on his trips back home.
Mr. Gaunt requested that his re^ mains be cremated and the arises remain inr his adopted state.
