The Rappahannock Chiefs lost to Madison with a score of 4 tol at Madison Sundiy when rain washed out the game in the beginning of the sixth inning.
The Chiefs had two men on bases and one man down when everyone had to run for shelter, John Turner who pitched for the Chiefs, struck out six men and allowed four hits.
The Chiefs will play Stanardsville here at Moffett’s Field on Sunday June 24th.
W.S.C.S. Meets
The Woman’s Society pf Christian Service met Thursday evening at 8:00 o’clock in the Methodist Church. After the business meeting, Mrs. Virginia Estes had the devotional and program,- “The World, = Beginning in My Community”. She was assisted by Mrs. Gilbert Updike, Mrs. Grace Weaver and Mrs. Jessie Rowzie.
This was a most interesting program, having three- subjects, "The world and the Home Community ”, “Is World Fellowship Possible?”, and "Our Community in the World”.
New officers were elected, Mrs. Jessie Rowzie president, Mrs. Virginia Estes, vice-president and secretary of Spiritual Life, M rs. Bertha Compton, secretary and treasurer*—
Mrs. Gilbert Updike, secretary of Missionary Education and Service, Mrs. Joanne Petty, secretary of Christian Social Relations and load church activities, after Which the meeting was adjourned.
