At long last we received aj copy of the Rappahannock County 1956 Virginia Apple and Peach (Tree Survey from our ftiend, Jim Chaffins. There are 31 less apple orchards’ than were on hand in 1949. Tree population has declined about 9.700 during the period actually there are 18,700 less trees of bearing‘age while the population of trees of non-bearing ag< stepped up about 9,900.
