Rufus W. Will, Jeweler o£ Front Royal, celebrated their third Anniversary in Front Royal on November 23. Mr. Wall has been a jeweler for the past twentyfour years. He; is a native of Radford, Virginia, where he was formerly in business. Wall’s is one of Front Royal’s outstanding jewelry stores—carrying nationally advertised lines of beautiful merchandise. This holiday season as always, Wall’s inwhose
favorite subject is a. single flower, will have a truss of crape myrtle, a sprig of honeysuckle and coupon, a native shrub. There are 10 floral studies in all the display. Mrs. Smith has written an article about the Virginia native shrub, yaupon, with a peri and ink sketch, which will be used in the December issue of Virginia Wildlife. _ Among Mrs. Smith’s earliest collections of childhood was th* drawing of wild flowers and leaves. Her family spent their sum■ mers in the country so, there was an abundance of material available which provided an exciting avocation. j
The laboratory was her vocation but through the years she simply painted for the joy of painting and in this shefeels lies precisely the benefit of painting as a hobbv.
Mrs. Smith has studied art under Lena Brooks McNamara ir Norfolk. In addition to exhibiting in Mrs. McNamara’s pupil ex hibits, Mrs. Smith has carried a collection of floral studies in oi to New York. Early this fall sh< had ah exhibit on display at thi Young Woman’s Christian As sociation and recently has exbib 'ted in the Tidewater Artists Ex hibit in Norfolk. "'.■*% v »>
