The Rappah; nnock High School varsity basketball team opened their District Heaguc game victorious by defi ating Herndon High School i >6 to 45, Friday, January 4, 1957 at the S|!>erryville gym before a cipacity crqwd. The Rappah innock team, playing very aggressive ball, took the lead in the fir t quarter and the Herndon team could not close the gap. The Hernddn team had been undefeated urtil they cjame up :l^e Rapagainst the sm^ll but detjermined Panther’s fire. John Browning led th pahannock attack with 24 points.
