Fifty pounds of nitrogen, 48 pounds of phosphoric acid and a like amount of available potash gave a yield of 335 lbs. of seed and 4138 lbs., of hay per kcre as an average for the 1949-55 test period.

One hundred ■ pounds of nitrogen and the same amount of phosphoric acid and available potash increased the average yields per acre to 443 lbs of seed and 5204 lbs. of hay. Without the nitrogen the same application of phosphate and potash gave an average yield
