Hunt Ball Held At
Meadowbrook Hall
Over a hundred persons attended the Rappahannock Hunt Rail held Saturday evening, May 11, at Meadowbrook Hall, home of Mrs. W. P. Slaughter.
Dancing was from 10:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. to music furnished by a Harrisonburg Orchestra.
There were a number of guests from adjoining hunt clubs and a most enjoyable time was reported by those attendng.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Durant and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fletcher entertained at dinner preceeding the ball.
Breakfast was served by the Ladies Auxiliary of Bromfield Parish.
Auxiliary Bake Sale
Proved A Success
The Bake Sale sponsored by the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Washington Fire Auxiliary cleared $23.30 on their cakes, pies, etc, sold on Friday.
The Auxiliary wishes to thank all who contributed, especially the Home Ec class of the Washington High School who gave two beautifully decorated cakes suitable for Mother’s Day. Mrs. W.
H. Massie. Jr. and Miss Kate Walker were in charge. The Pencil Committee, headed by Miss Myra Ann Updike, assisted by Miss Mary Lou Davis, certainly deserve to be congratt£ lated. They have turned into the Auxiliary to the Washington Fire Company $15.75 from the Pencil Sale.
