Miss Elizabeth Hertzog (Betty) Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr., of Sperryville, was among 51 members of the graduating class at Fairfax Hall, preparatory school for girls, at Waynesboro, receiving diplomas in the annual commence merit exercises Sunday. Miss Johnson, as No. 2 ranking student in her class, was salutatorian for Class Day exercises. , During her two years at Fairfax Hall, Miss Johnson served as secretary of the Junior Class in 1956; president of the Student Association, 1957; secretary-treasurer of the Fairfax Wall Chapter of the National Honor’Society; a member of the President’s Council; a member of May Court; president of the Choir; and held membership in the Spanish Club the Debate Club; the Glee Club; the Athletic Association; and the Varsity- basketball team.

Miss Johnson plans to attend Duke University this fall.
