For Association
Thirteen citizens of Rappahannock interested in fire prevention, the protection of property and life, and willing to give some of their time to it, met in thp fire house at Flint Hill, Va. Monday night June 10th at 8:00 pm to discuss organizing a county Fireman s Association. Mr. Charles Gasch, president of the Castleton Community Vol. Fire Company was appointed to investigate insurance rates as related ,to efficient fire fighting equipment. This information, together with other farts concerning the work of Vol. fire Companies . and the advantages and disadvantages of a County Fireman’s Association, will be compiled in a small leaflet for study by firemen and rescue squad members.
After the study another meeting will be called and the question de- , cide<i as to whether or not Rappahannock needs a County Fire Association.
Those attending the meeting Mondav evening were from Flint Hill, Chief 'Emory Russell and David Corbibn; Castleton, President Charles Gasch, Chief Ray Cannon, Alphaeus Cannon and Franklin Grimsley; Amissville, President Ralph Rowzie, Chief Lloyd By waters, Charlie Priest and B. L. James; Sperryville, 'H. H. Avlor and Bob Estes. Members of the Washington Vol. Fire Company were conspicuous by their absence. \Lieut.
Jack Barber, who is also Secretary of the Washington Rescue Squad, was there to represent < - the squad and to assure those at the meeting that the.Rescue Squad was ready and willing to cooperate with them in every way. - ^
