Safety reports from Flint Hill, Amissville and Washington last week were all “safety fans” could wish for. No fires, no serious accidents. Let’s keep it up.
Fire completely destroyed a hay barn on the Clover Hill Farm of J. Maurice O’Bannion on Monday, Juno 10 about 6:30 p.m.
One thousand bales of hay went up in smoke. With the exception of one load, it was last years hay. - Cause of the fire is not known, but it is thought to have been a case of spontaneous combustion.
Ten panels of fence was aha burned.
Th* Sperryville Vol. Fire Co. was called but wore unable to save the bam, they were able, howeevr, to keep the fire from spreading to other buildings.
