Just a few years ago, about. 5 to 6 years in I~ fact,. getting sheep sheared was a problem, This year 4-H’ersGIenn and Randall Updike and Jack Sisk- . sheared in the neighborhood of a. thousand sheep doing the iob as . well as any adult knowing the art.
Had Glenn not been meat anf-~ mal winner, he would have been on the State Livestock Judging team as he placed 4th in the stare contest.'A 4-H’er can be winner7 ' in but one contesbdu ring the given year. ....... „H... . .
Jirr.mv, Randall, and -Jack placed 6th out of eleven teams competing in the State Livestock Judging Contest and haw a good chance to yet win in the years come. Boys like anyone' else' times get a case of nerves' when ifcomes to the final show down. They were considered as the team most likelv to win this year and knowing these boys as I do vou can count on their being back in there ■ pitching when the 19>8 conmst comes off!
Another observation worthv of note is that thr‘bovs who npsed out Jack Sisk in the district «heen .: shearing contest this year placed one and two on the state level! This was the final vear of compe1 tition for Jack's chief rivals, however. .like in snorts or life itself 7 worthy- and honorable opponents _ are forever-flrvelooing.
