Safety Factor
Diazinon is relatively safe to humans and domestic animals in comparison with the highly toxic organic phosphate insecticides. However, a 11 organic phosphates are cholinesterase inhibitors and the precautionary measures shown on the labels should be followed closely.
Economy
Due to the effectiveness of Diazinon formulations against such a wide variety of insects, the Piazinori-DDT fruit insect control schedule is one of the most effective and economical fruit spray programs available. Since this combination controls practically all the major fruit insects and also suppresses mite infestations, it is not necessary to use several different insecticides to control the various insect species attacking fruit.
