Report for the nation on tlhe number of sheep and lambs on feed for market January 1 indicate numbers are four and a half million head, up 7 percent over last year. However, this figure is one percent below the five year average.

The Corn Belt States are up 6 percent from last year and the Western States up 10 percent.

More than 175,000 dependents of disability insurance beneficiaries have not applied for monthly benefit payment^ according to R. E. Parsons, Assistant Manager of the Alexandria Social Security Office.

Parsons said that a number of these dependents are in Rappahannock County and could have been drawing benefits since September 1958 had they filed application with the social security office for these payments.

Parsons explained that it is not yet too late to get payments back to September but urges all persons who.are receiving disability benefits and who have dependents to contact their social security representative as soon as possible.
