The Rappahannock Hunt Point to-Point race course, On the Pike 3 miles south of Sperryyille, is now ready for schooling.
Any morning or afternoon, from now* until Thursday, March 5th, when weather and footing are favorable ,you may motor up Sperryville Pike and have a fair chance of seeing a few vans 4nd trailers perched on the hill above Fletcher’s Double Gates. This means you can watch riders and horses practicing on the course.
Rappahannock’s 1%-jmile circular course, at the foot of Mason Mt., is known as one of the most s p o r ti n g and rugged Point-toPoint purses in the Virginia Circuit. That all 7 timber hurdles on the course can be clearly viewed from the spectator area is a distinguishing advantage. The Ladies Race, the two Gentlemen’s Races, and the Open Race, carded for March 7, will be run over 3 miles; that is twice around this rolling course and twice over the jumps.
