Farm Bureau Elects
Officers
The Board of Directors, Rappahannock Farm Bureau met February 18, 1959 in the County Agent’s office with ten members present. They were Lt. Gen. Daniel Noce, president of the county orgarfization, who preseided, E. M. Jones, 'H. S.' Barksdale, C. E. Johnson, P. L. Thornton, D. D. Miller, Irvin O. Wolf, I. L. Parish, also A. H. Spillman, Agency Manager and Ernest Garber, Field Worker, Virginia Farm Bureau.
Ten new Inembers were reported and there .was some discussion on the development snJ location of a County Farm Bureau office.
After reading a letter requesting a contribution to the Red Cross, a discussion followed. A moion was made by E. M. Jones that the purpose of the Farm Bureau was to advance agriculture in Rappahannock county and that contributions to the various drives should be made by individual members rather than by the Farm Bureau organization. The motion was properly supported and carried.
The 7th Congressional District meeting to be held in Harrisonburg was discussed, and Gen .Noce urged at least 3 members attend is they would have the opportunity there to discuss with their CongressionaL- representative, Burr P. Harrison problems affecting agriculture in Rappahannock County.
It was decided to have the next meeting around March 15th. All members, were urged to make a report on work accomplished and to make suggestions concerning work yet to be done.
The following Service Committee was appointed by the president: E. M. Jones, Chaiiman; Irvin O. Wolf, Assistant.
