Lorenzo Jones 50, a colored man was fatally burned Friday afternoon, May 29 when he lost control ~ of the tractor and flat-bed trailer he was driving as it skidded out of control on wet pavement, overturned and caught fire on Route 211 just south of Washington, Va.
A sudden shower had made thef « highway slippery, causing Johnson to lose control of the vefricJe, which ran up the bank on .the left hand side of the road, careened back across the highway, hit a bridge ar.d overturned down an embankment, catching on fire.
According to a Mr. Leake from Falls Church, who witnessed the accident, the truck door jammed and Johnson broke a windovg to get out with his shirt burned off and pants and shoes smoldering.
