Trip For Sunday
A hiking club was formed Monday evening, when interested parties met at the News office and under die direction of Raymond Johnson, County Fire Warden, planned the first outing for Sunday afternoon, October 11. Plans were made to meet at Sperryville Elementary School {it 1:30 p.m., proceed to Panorama by automobile and hike from there to the top of Hawksbill, which has an elevation of 4,200 feet, and then back to Panorama. The round trip will cover a distance of only two and three-tenths miles.
Mr. Johnson and Paul Miller volunteered to see toi the purchase of some water canteens. Mr. Johnson advised that all; hikers wear heavy walking shoes, long sleeved shirt or blouse, slacks or Jeans, carry a walking stick and bring a sandwich with them, j
