F.H.A. Federation

The F.H.A. Daughters of the Stars Federation Meeting was held Saturday, November 21, 1959 at the Clark County High School in Berryville, Va. This was the Annual fall meeting.

Schools represented were Clark, James Wood, Rappahannock and Loudoun. Each school participated in the program which was showing ways to improve and beautify the home inside and out, during the four seasons of the year.

James Wood showed a film of different techniques used to improve the home economically, yet making it safe, followed by a panel discussion based on the fifen, which especially emphasized efficiency.

For the winter season, Rappahannock showed dried flower arrangements to be used to brighten the home when fresh cut flowers are not available. Types of flowers to be used and method of drying were explained as well as shapes and lines of arrangements.

Loudoun presented a »kit entitled “Care of Home Outdoors and Interior Decorating”. Miniature rooms were used to show effects of lighting and a talk was given on outside improvements.

Clark, the host club, chose landscaping and showed a film strip on plants, shrubs and trees for landscaping.
