This is not as it should be I
But such is often the case when we thank God solely “for" things. Certainly, to thank God “for” things is a vital part of our thanksgiving: to thank God for material things; moat certainly, to thank God for spiritual things...such as courage, strength, comfort, hope. But if we too often find our thanks comes as a breath that bums in our parched throats; if our thanks does not give us peace; if it does not liberate us from screaming emotions; if it but offers us, rt best, a temporary relief from that torrid race into which we will be thrown again on the morrow—such a thanks is not enough!
Then what is?
Perhaps the key to a true thanksgiving may be found in one word. For though we almost always thank God for dirt which He has done for us (even as it should be), we too often fail to than^ •God for that which He has done, and ^ao do, “through” usf That perhaps, is the key! Change the ward "for” to “through”, and there is all the difference in the world.
