Two Homes Damaged
By Fire
Wednesday, November 18 the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Munro at Castleton was damaged by fire when a blaze which started in the kitchen burned the rear of the house. Castleton Fire Company had die fire under control when Amissville Company arrived and the two succeeded in extinguishing the flames and saved the building from complete destruction.' An early morning blaze was discovered in the unoccupied house of Mrs. George Browning in Flint (Hill Sunday about 3:30 a.m. by Claude Foster who turned in the alarm.
Flint Hill, Amissville, Sperryville and Front Royal Companies answered the call.
The structure was saved but four rooms in the rear were gutted and a small outbuilding completely destroyed.
Mrs. Browning is a patient in a Front Royal nursing home and the house has been closed for some time. Origin of the fire is not known.
Two Front Royal firemen were injured. One was overcome by smoke and was rushed to Warren Memorial Hospital by the Flint Hill Rescue Squad, where he con, tinues a patient. Another was treated for an eye injury and ib* leased. -','i ' • v* •
