The Board of Supervisors on Wednesday, rescinded day light saving time in Rappahannock County and placed the county offices on Eastern Standard Time effective September 7, 1961 (today.) The Board will continue to meet at 9 a.m. EST on the first Wednesday of each month.

At the regular meeting of the Board in May, a resolution was passed placing the county offices on DST. However, since this was not provided by state statute, the action of he Board was unofficial and the offices opened and closed one hour earlier on EST.

The Board also passed the following: Road viewers for “Old Black Rock Road” from its intersection on . Route 522 at Mills Store for about .03 mile east.

Certain welfare accounts were ordered paid.
