The Goodyear award was presented to the Culpeper Soil Conservation District on recommendation of state agriculture leaders after reviewing the work of farmers and supervisors of 13 state districts entered in the contest.
In the' Mountain Run watershed area is the town of Culpeper and approximately 240 farms. The watershed is regulated by an executive group appointed from the farmer-town member Mountain Run Watershed Association.
Contracting for the $545,000 project was done by the local soil conservation district.

Died Last Night
Mrs. Gates Moffett Jones, 77, died lait night, September, 20 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. Lewis Turner in Washington, Va.
She was the widow of J. Frank Jones and the daughter of the late Judge William Walter Moffett of Culpeper County and Jessie Mary Dudley of Rappahannock.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Turnei;, survivors are one. .son, E. M. Jdnes of Washington, Va. and five grandchildren; three sistprs, Mrs. B. N. Eubank, Roanoke, Va., Mrs. S. M. Walters, Richmond and Mrs. J. Frank Umstot of Tampa, Fla.
A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon at 2 pjn. EST from the residence, Delamore with her pastor, the Rev. Warren L. Wilbur, officiating. Interment will be in Washington Masonic Cemetery.
