As for me, 1 concurr whole heartedly with Mr. Cosden, who spoke recently at Sperryville on Atomic Survival when he said: “Make a Plan..Use what you have for the present until a better shelter can be had and then try it out." Also Mr. Cosden suggest-j ed that in planning for a shelter to ask yourself, “How else can the structure best serve me and mine?” Mr. Cosden’s shelter is serving a double purpose—it is used daily as a utility room.
The top of Capt. Weiner’s shelter, I hear serves as a porch to his home. A fall-out shelter can well serve as a root cellar, a future furnace room or even as part of a recreation room when such becomes a financial possibility.
