Ill is death makes two ratanues which have occurred in Rappahannock County this year.
On Friday, June 22 at 10:45 p.m., 2*4 mil65 south of Flint Hill on Route 522 a 1961 Volkswagen owned and operated by James Clarence Quada of Afton struck a tree when the driver swerved to avoid hitting a pedestrian. He lost control of the vehicle and ran off the right side of the road. $44 in damage was done to the Volkswagen; The-operator was not injured.
When Randolph Brown of Amissville stopped in the proper lane to make a left turn off Route 211 two miles west of Amissvflle, he was struck in the rear by Lester McKinley Ewell of Markham.
Ewell was taken to Warrer Memorial Hospital by Flint Hill Rescue Squad where he was admitted with chest injuries. There were no other injuries.
Damage was estimated at $700 to the Brown car, a 60 Chevrolet and also $700 to the 1953 Ford driven by Ewell.
State Police, W. A. Buntin investigated the three accidents.
M.Y.F. Plans To Hold
“Hobo” Days The M.Y.F. of the Amissville Methodist Church is sponsoring “Hobo” Days July 12 - 14. The young people will do odd jobs on those days, such as car washing window washing, lawn mowing or any other jobs that are available. The fees will be nominal.
