WHY AND WHO
The Democratic Committee of Madison County arranged a rally Tuesday night at the American Legion Hall so their people could meet the five candidates seeking the Seventh District Congressional seat. Because I am an American, interested in the general welfare of my family, community and country, I went to the rally to see and hear them. I did not feel that I could otherwise make an honest choice since, until Tuesday, I had met two of the five men. It is impossible for each candidate to visit every potential voter in the sixteen counties which comprise the Seventh District. The trip was worthwhile to say the least, but that is be side the point. Why did I have to go to Madison County to ie and hear them? Why haven’t these men, all *ood Democrats been introduced as a group in Rappahannock. I am sure there are many people who will votemthe primary that will not know for whom and what they are voting A local man vigorously campaigning for one of £e candidates,°admitted at the beginning of the campaign thaLhe knew nothing about him and had never seen the nrospective office holder._:—'—'—
