Four county fire companies | participated in a Fire InI spection School held last week , in Rappahannock. Total en| rollment in the school was 24 | with 14 firemen receiving cer-: 1 tificates of completion. The! ! 15-hour course was attended! by firemen from Sperryville, | Castleton, Flint Hill and! , Amissville, and attendance of ' 12 hours was required for a ' certificate. Eight instructors from Fairfax county who taught the course were Chief Fire Marshal George Alexander; Deputy Chief Fire Marshal Lynwood Rocky Reed; Fire Marshals Charles Desmuke, Frank Sherman, Haywood John; son, Chester Chinn and Buddy Devereau; and Arson Investigator A1 Savia. Among subjects taken up were hazards to look for in and around schools and other public buildings, arson case^ evidence of causes of fires and inspection of homes. A practical inspection was made ! | of Washington Elementary i School Thursday night with |the class being held there. All other classes were held at Amissville fire hall.
