In the small pony class, Mike Brown of Culpeper took the championship with Candy Comet and reserve champion was Ann Baumgardner of Washington on Rockbum King’s daughter. Carol Ann Broaddus of Middleburg riding Silver Belle was champion in the large pony classes an-l taking the reserve was Charlie Brown of Culpeper on Flamingo.
In the hunter horse division, Champion was Charlie Brown on Strawberry Sunday and Joanne van Brederode of Washington was reserve champion. Debbie McLaughlin on Imagination was the champion in the English pleasure horse division and reserve went to Pete Aylor of Sperryville on Checkmate.
The champion in the Western Division was Bobby Payne of Culpeper on Mariea and the reserve went to Barry Kilmer, also of Culpeper on Cheyenne Marklin.
The outing was a splendid day for families and sisters, rothers and cousins competed with each other in numerous classes. Mike, Charlie and Oliver Brown, all sons of Mr. and Mrs. Elzy Brown of Culpeper lent stiff competition to all and walked off with heaps of ribbons. The O’Bannon sisters of Woodville were in the group and cousins Mary Brooke Massie of Washington and Jim Fletcher Massie of Amissville were in the beribboned group.
