In the period of questions and answers which followed it was good to note the presence and active interest of several of the younger generation. It has been suggested that more gatherings of this type would be welcome.
Mr. William M. Carrigan is outgoing chairman of the Library Board. Under Mr. Carrigan's chairmanship the library has grown from a modest start with its beginnings in 19(il and its formal dedication in lbtj.'J to a recognized public library. Much of this accomplishment must be attributed to Mr. Carrigan’s untiring efforts and personal dedication to this community project.
Mrs C. K. Johnson, Jr. of Sperryville has been appointed as a trustee in Mr. Carrigan’s place. Other trustees of the Rappahannock Library are Mr. 0. A. Norton; Mrs. Elmo I). Flynt, Mrs. J. Newbill Miller, and Col. E. A. McNear.
