Carlton Atkins of Sperryville has been given an engraved gold tie pin in recognition of 36 years service with the Virginia Department of Highways. District Engineer D. B. Hope of Culpeper made the presentation at a dinner held Thursday evening. Mr. Atkins has completed his active service, but his retirement is not official until the end of the year.
