Meeting Friday; Li
Much discussion on a variety of subjects was heard at the regular meeting Friday of th^ Rappahannock Board of Supervisors though little direct action resulted. Among items on the agenda was reports from the Safety Commission, Highway Department, Telephone Company and Sperryville Citizens Committee.
R. E. Wood of the local Safety Commission again discussed the intersection of Routes 211 and 522 at Massies Comer and said he had reported the hazardous condition to the Highway District in Culpeper.
E. A. Compton with Virginia Telephone and Telegraph was present to discuss the telephone situation in the county. Subscribers in the Washington and Flint Hill areas have an extremely limited number of phones to which they have access toll free and feel an expanded program should be underway. Mr. Compton agreed to supply a cost study on various aspects of such and to work with C&P on it.
Resident Engineer James K. Skeen of the Department of Highways presented the Board with an operation and fiscal summary for 1968-69. A private auditing firm presented a bid for auditing county books which was accepted since it proved to be in keeping with the costs of state auditors
Ham and Turkey
Supper Saturday
A Ham and Turkey Dinner will be served Saturday, November 15 at the AmfSsville United Methodist Church social hall beginning at 5 p.m. All food will be home cooked and the dinner is $2 for adults and $1 for children under 12. The dinner is for the benefit of the church and the public is cordially invited to attend.
