Miss Shirley Sue North became the bride of Gerald Lynn Elliott in an afternoon ceremony Saturday, January 22, in the Chester Gap Baptist Church with the Rev. William Alford officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Stewart North of Marshall and the late Margaret Seal North and is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam North with whom she has resided. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Holmes J. Elliott of Front Royal.
Given in marriage by her brother, Steve North, the bride wore a white satin floor-length gown with veil and train. She carried a bouquet of red roses. Miss Norma Jean Williams, the maid of honor, wore a floor-length white gown and carried red carnations.
Mrs. LaMerle Williams, pianist, presented the nuptial music.
Lonnie Williams of Chester Gap served as best man.
A buffet reception was held in the Chester Gap fire hall immediately after the ceremony with Mrs. Holmes Elliott presiding and Mrs. Gordon Lemon assisting. Out-oftown guests included cousins of the bride, Mrs. Rosa Mae Bussey and son Kevin of Salem.
