Park Rangers have recently taken three individuals into Federal Court and charged them with hunting in Shenandoah National Park.
On December 21, Jesse R. Grigsby of Castleton, Virginia, appeared before U.S. Magistrate I. Randolph in Luray, and was found guilty on charges of hunting, killing a deer, and being in a closed Srea of the Park. Grigsby was fined $350 and his 1976 Jeep and rifle were forfeited to the Government. A juvenile was involved in the same incident was found guilty, fined $145 and his rifle was confiscated. Total fines and forfeitures in this incident amounted to over $2,000.
