Bertha E. Freeman, 92, of Sperryville died April 28 at the Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was bom July 19, 1915, in Gid Brown Hollow, Washington to the late Rosie Lee Freeman and the late Robert Mundy.
Mrs. Freeman was a homemaker and a member of the Promise Land Baptist Church, Washington and Wayland Blue Ridge Women’s Auxiliary. She went to the Senior Citizen Center in Rappahannock County where she loved to be with many friends.
She was a loving, caring person.
Mrs. Freeman is Survived by two sons, Deacon James R. Freeman, Sr. and wife Charlotte and Rev. Forrest Lee Freeman, Sr. and wife Nancy both from Washington, four daughters, Lillian F. Aylor of Sperryville, Anna R. Carter and husband, Wallace, Darlene E. Freeman, Culpeper and Arlene B. Green, Winchester.
Additional survivors include 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Margaret Poles of Sperryville a sister-in-law, nieces and host of cousins and friend.
Funeral services were held on May 3 at Wayland Blue Ridge Association Center in Rixeyville with Rev. Herbert Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Freeman Family Cemetery.
