Clarissa Leggett of Rappahannock County is one of five community members who will be honored by Hospice of the Rapidan at its Silver Anniversary Gala in October.

The gala will honor one person from each of the counties in which it cares for patients: Culpeper. Fauquier. Madison. Orange and Rappahannock.

The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, from 6 p.m. to midnight. The black-tie affair includes a silent and live auction and dinner and dancing. A commemorative journal also will be produced for the event.

Leggett has a long association with Hospice of the Rapidan and served on its Board of Directors.
