New Sidewalk On 2nd Street OK’d By Council w Appropriation Made For Cemetery Improvements Street improvements and de velopment of West view cemetery were authorized by the Town Council in meeting Tuesday night The use of the Armory w a s granted the Boy Scouts for a dem onstration on Friday, Feb. 13. Construction of a sidewalk on the south side of West Second street from the corner Of Mam street east. 120 feet was authoriz ed. Town manager Johnston ex pects to complete tlie work lim ing the spring season. An appropriation of $1,000 was made to improve West view ceme tery. A road will be built m the northern section, some grading will be done, and additional lot marked. This area will provide 125 lots. Adopt Service 1'olicy A policy for extension of wa'er and sewer services to property outside the corporate limits was adopted requiring applicants to furnish the town manager grade lines and plans, indicatin', the size of services proposed, convex necessary easements, and righi.s of-wa.v. The usual charges Un making water and sewer taps would be made by the town, when plans are ap trover. The policy has been in effect f<v. some tune and was restated in one policy statement. Town Manager Johnston was authorized to visit factory dem onstrations in Illinois to inspect at least two makes o! fire engines, with a view ol submitting specifi cations for a new fire engine to replace the present 750-gallon Seagrave engine It was pointed out that eight to nine months wen required for delivei \ after an or der is placed for a fire engine 11 this type The information will be needed for future planning
