'Festival Four Of Founiv Shrines I , j Prince Edward county's contri bution to the State's observance of the 350th anniversary of the founding of Janisetown will have ns highlight day on May 4 with a ''Festival Tour" of historic shrines. The tour through historic Prince Edward will be sponsored by the c unity inanch iif " '. ! for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities, with the Longwood Garden Club participating. Through a cooperative effort of local groups. Southside Virgin ia will be united in five days of celebration, starting in Charlotte county May 1 and 2. moving to Halifax county May 3. to Prince Edward May 4 and then to Appo mattox May 5. ’ Charlotte County will conduct tours oi old homes, churches and public buildings. At Halifax the tom will be the 13th Pilgrimage of Old H.difax Homes and at Ap pomattox the events include an opening worship service on the Surrender Grounds, a flower show and art exhibit. Prince Edward's May 4 tour will cany vim tors to old Briery Church, the debtor's prison at, Worsham, the Lockett House, Sandy River Church, Hampden-Sydne.v Col lege. Randolph House and Long wood College, to include the May Day celebration at Longwood Es tate :n mid-afternoon.
