Cradle of the Cockade, on June 12 at the National Military Park dur ing the city's Homocoming Week Virginia Beach will repeat and en large many of the events of its fiftieth anniversary celebration in 1956. , The nine schools of higher edu cation which will participate in the Festival year are Madison College, Randolph-Macon at Ashland, Rich mond Professional Institute, South ern Seminary, Sweet Briar College, Virginia State College, Washington and Let University, the College of William and Mary, and the Uni versity of Virginia. Other institu tions may have programs which have not yet been announced. •'Colleges and Universities In general, the participation of these institutions will involve all or ■i part of tht following activities: magazine issues on seventeenth century subjects, lectures and ex hibits on the culture of the coloni zation period, plays by dramatic so cietes. musical recitals and con certs, special commemorative days, and where possible, publications dedicated to the anniversary year.
