Livestock Bring Above Average Prices At Show Buckingham FPA club members got a little slice of the $18,007 cake that was cut at the Richmond j Junior Premium Stock Show last week. Buddy Pankey received second place ribbon on one of his Angus steers He later sold the steer for 30 cents per pound. His second steel brought 21 I cents per pound. David Seay got a third place prize for his pen of three hogs, and they were graded as U. S. number one He sold them at IK 75 cents per pound. David Seay also sold a steer at 23 cents and Larry Derrenbackei j got 26.5" for his. The amount received by boys all j over the state at the sale was about I $3,500 more tha lithe $14,448 re ceived last year in the annual event, sponsored by the Richmond I Chamber of Commerce. Grand Champion steer of tin1 show, an 865 pound Hereford shown | by Alan Miner, 17, of Waynesboro, was bought by Universal Tractor j Equipment Co. for $674.70, a price of 78 cents per pound. The animal i was donated by the tractor company : to the Crippled Children's Honv in Richmond.
