Three outstanding scholars of varied backgrounds will lecture during the day’s program to be held in the Student Activi ties Building Lounge at 11 a. m.. 4 p. m. and 8 p. m. Dr. Francis B. Simkins. professor of his tory at Longwood College, a native of South Carolina, author and lecturer, will have as his subject: Education That Does n’t Educate: The Persistence of Virginia Folkways. Dr. Louis D. Rubin, .Jr., associate editor of the Richmond News-Leader, a historian and literary critic, will speak on: The Im age of an Army: The Confederate War in Southern Literature, Dr. Gardner B. Taplin, a native of New Englond, teacher-lecturer-author, associate professor of English at Longwood College, has for his subject: Critical Essays in the Southern Literary Messenger.
