Thomas W. S. Davit, 3 9-yearold Warrentonian, was swofn in f October 14 at Assistant Secretary of Commerce, in a ceremony Attended by bis parents, Dr, and Mrs. George H. Davis, of Warrenton.
He attended the Naval Academy at Annapolis, the University of Virginia and the Washington Col- • lege of Law. During the war he was a Naval officer. '
Mr. Davit is the brother of George H'. Davis, Jr., special attorney for the Department'of Justice, and visits here frequently.
1150-lb. Yearling Heifer Raised by W. A. Miller
A yearling "'heifer calf weighing 1150 pounds was raised this year'at “Mt. Prospect” farm by W. A. Miller, owner. The caff, a pure bred Hereford, was weighed on October 25 by scales belonging to C. J. Miller, which are located near the fair grounds at Washington; The calf grazes .on pasture at the present time andhae not been fed on grain since May. 1, states -Mr. Miller.
