The Summer Music
Center of Virginia
It is reliably reported that a nearby county is competing with Rappahannock for the listinction of becoming the summer music center of Virginia, which honor has been offered to our county by the Virginia State Orchestra Guild.
In order to bring the matter to a head and test out our interest in the proposed plan of organization in this county, Mr. William Haaker, the director of the state orchestra, with his wife, are planning to spend Friday evening and part of Saturday in Sperryville for the purpose of conferring with some of those who are interested in music and in the advancement of Rappahannock county. The developments growing out of the Visit of Mr. and Mrs. Haaker will appear in next week’s issue.
Mr. and Mrs. Haaker will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Hening while in our county.
