Festvial This September
Amissville’s second Firemen's Festival will be held in September.
Department members in a special meeting called by President Thomas Tear chose this month for the occasion so as not to conflict with any other county firemen's carnivals. _
A repeat performance of the successful 1952 Festival is hoped for, especially since the new firehouse is expected to be completed by then.
New donors of cinder block were announced at the meeting: Clifton Nethers and Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Cook.
A new motor, given the department by W. A. Laing, Jr., is being installed in the department's light truck. _.
March of Dimes Report
Mrs. T. C. Lea, county chairman of the March of Dimes, states that a final report cannot be made at this time. She reports that around $900 Jus been donated, but Mrs. Lea and her co-workers believe and hope that die quota of $1000 will be reached by nex;t week. Some consistent donors have not sent in their contributions and they believe this to be an oversight.
