INTERNATIONAL ASPECTS OF CONTROLS PROBLEM
This week the Banking and Currency Committee tackled the difficult question of what to do about economic controls. The schedule of our hearings, which probably will continue for several week, called for preliminary testimony from government officials on the economic problems facing the nation. Next we will get the opinions of businessmen, labor organization, trade associations and other private individuals or groups and finally we will hear from federal officials who will present the Administration’s official position on the subject.
