One of the latest is Eileen* mere 1082nd, the bull who today is the senior herd sire in the Ankony herd, Rhinebeck, N.Y. The 1032nd** in turn sired the 1052 Internation Grand Champion bull, Ankonian 3216, owned by Cochran Farm, North Salem, N. Y.
It is also interesting to note that Blackcap Tolan breeding shows strongly in the top side of the pedigree. This breeding was made famous by Blackcap Tolan, 35th who was International Grand Champion female three consecutive years. :■ j;.** Kinlock Blackbird 12th, the dam, is sired by Whitney bandolier who was supreme champion and top selling bull at the Eastern Regional Show and Sale, Trenton, N.J., in 1046. Ha was sired by Ravenswood Bandolier 12th (known as the ‘burned back* bull) who was the bull that made the C. V. Whiteney herd, Westbury Long Island, N. Y., so famous. Wintonian 6th, shre of the ‘burned back* bull, is the great breeding bull owned by Annandale Farm, Upperville, who sired the supreme champion and top selling animal at the Spotlight Sale, Warrenton, a few years ago. Another individual showing in the pedigree is Prince Eston Quality who sold for 610,600 when cattlt were not bringing high prices.
A half brother to the new Lee. way Farm bull by the same sire recently sold at Mr .and Mrs. Butler’s sale at |40,000 to Ash Grove Farm,, New Hope, Pa., and a daughter by this bull was supreme champion at the 1052 Spotlight Sale, Warrenton, selling at 65000.
