Following this encouraging report, the department elected officers and officials for the coming year. Thomas Tear was unanimously re-elected president, but Charles Green refused to be drafted as vice-president for a second term, and W. A. Laing, Jr., was elected to that office.
Theodore Barron was re-elected treasurer over his protests, and Walter Slavik was chosen to replace Graham Hackley as secretary. Charles Compton and Elmer Jenkins will again serve the department and community as fire chief and assistant fire chief, respectively.
New captains of the department for the coming year will be Lloyd Bywaters and Mitchell Green, the latter having served as lieutenant during the past year.
Braxton James and Fred Cooke were chosen as new lieutenants.
Rev. and Mrs. W. Francis Allison of Montrose, Pa., were overnight guests on Wednesday of Miss Louise CTBannon. y
