Cautions Directed
On Water Shortage
Citizens of Washington are cautioned to conserve water until a rain can restore the supply to its regular abundance. According to J. Rodes Brown, in charge of the water system of Washington, it was necessary some days ago to start using the pump on the artesian well. Admitting the hard water from the the well is not quite so pleasant as the soft spring water, Jkfr. Brown said, “ At least, it’s wet, and with this dry spell we can be thankful the shortage is no worse.”
Caution says there is to be no more washing of cars, watering of lawsn, or other unnecessary use of water until the present dry season is broken.

Saturday, August 25, L. R. Hudson, chairman of the Republican Party of this district, led an enthusiastic group of Republicans in a “set-up” meeting for <the governor’s race. Plans were made for the support of Republican candidate Ted Dalton. The meeting was conducted at the home of A. M. Hickman.
