Expression of Thanks
Mrs. W. P. Slaughter has been cited with many expressions of thanks from the parents of children who are enjoying the use of the swimming pool at“Meadowbrook” while they receive swimming instructions.
Mrs. Slaughter was most kind in - allowing her pool to be used and, as might be expected, she’s had the customery trouble that comes when private property is turned over to public use. Some people seemed to think just because the lady was nice enough to allow swimming classes to be held (at stated hours on stated days) that the pool had become public property. They failed to realize that a private swimming pool was private property. They failed to realize that a private swimming pool _was private property, and it’s the usual thing for a fellow to wait for an invitation before barging into someone’s home.
The children are trying to show their appreciation to Mrs. Slaughter for her kindness in lending the pool for the swimming classes. They are trying to pass the word around that the pool is for the use of the classes only and at all other times it is private property'.
