On September 21 county representatives attended a meeting in Fredericksburg called by the Committee studying plans for a regional hospital for the aged and chronically ill in this section of the state. The activities taking place in the various counties during the summer were reviewed and it was found that nine counties were .definitely interested in participating Wn*’ the facility and several other
^counties had given it some consideration but had not made a decision. One of the problems faced by the group was a decision as to the size of the roposed facility. After reviewing 4acfs and figures about the number of aged in the population the group decided that a 100 bed hospital would meet their needs. A committee was named to consult architects about the cost of constructing the building. The committee will also look into building sites and will have the power to report back to he various counties. When this report is received each county will know what contribution will be necessary.
